Kenmare Farmers Market

Kenmare Farmers Market takes place every Wednesday in the Square. Local speciality food, craft, plants and produce makers setup stalls early to sell their tempting wares. It is a popular day for self catering holiday makers staying in Kenmare to stock up on and sample local quality food. You will also find unique gifts to take home to family and friends.

The Landsdown Arms Hotel

My Brilliant Divorce – Friday the 15th July @ 8pm

Ferguson, Holmes & Henry   – Thursday the 21st of July at 8pm

If music is more your thing, you can sit back and enjoy Gary Fergus at the Carnegie Arts Center.  An award winning singer songwriter since 1969, he has been influenced by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and contemporary bluegrass.

Port Authority   – Friday the 22nd of July at 8pm

‘Port Authority’ is the hit play from leading Irish dramatist, Conor McPherson. The touching and hilarious drama tells of three interwoven lives and the challenges of intimacy and relationships in modern day Ireland. Tickets:  €15/€12

Kilgarvan Annual Show

This year the 27th Kilgarvan Annual Show takes place on Sunday 31st of July 2011. The popular event attracts visitors from all over the country. Horses, Ponies, Donkeys, Cobs, Sheep, Cattle, Goats, Poultry, Dogs, Children’s Pets, Horticulture, Crafts and Photographs.

Kenmare Golf Classic 29th July Charity Event

Following the success of last year’s event, the Kenmare Golf Club Bee For Battens Charity Golf Classic returns on Friday 29th July and is sponsored by McCarthy Sports, Main Street, Bantry.

3 person team event, €75 euro per team, GUI handicap.

While on holiday many of us like to read our emails and keep in touch with friends.

You’ll be glad to read that WiFi is available in most Restaurants and Bars in Kenmare town.

When staying at Millfield, you can visit the Kenmare Bay Hotel & Resort, a short walk from your holiday home, and avail of the hotel’s WiFi Zone offering free WiFi Internet Access in public areas. Kenmare Restaurants win Awards 2011

Kenmare town has a wealth of fine restaurants to suit all tastes. In The Irish Restaurant Awards 2011, Packie’s Restaurant  won the award for Best Chef namely Martin Hallisse and Mulcahy’s Restaurant won  for Best Customer Service. Jam the local Bakery/Coffee Tea room also pick up an award. Well done!

Set in 1936, during the summer before De Valera’s new constitution was approved by referendum, the play depicts the late summer days when love briefly seems possible for three of the Mundy sisters, and their family welcomes home their frail elder brother, who has returned from his life as a missionary in Africa.

The Secret in Their Eyes  – Thursday 24th February at 8pm

Winner of Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards 2010 this film is Set in Argentina and the director Campanella creates a suspenseful crime drama with a love story at its core.

The Quiet Man, Friday 25th February at 2 pm

A special treat is in store before this classic John Wayne film is show,  Maureen O’Hara herself will be at the theatre for a special pre screening interview. Admission €5 and includes tea or coffee.
